A massive fire has broken out at BAE Systems, the site where Britain's nuclear submarines are constructed in Barrow. Local reports are flooding in with images and videos showing a dramatic blaze against the night sky at BAE Systems Submarines' headquarters in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria .
It is thought to be being used to build a 1.6billion submarine for the Royal Navy - HMS Agincourt, an Astute-class nuclear-powered fleet submarine, is believed to be housed at the site as it is constructed.The incident reportedly began around 12.45am. Both Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service and BAE have been contacted for comment.Residents are expressing their concerns over the potentially "really bad" implications of the fire.
This prevailing sense of unease has proliferated among locals, particularly concerning the fate of employees at this crucial British facility renowned for its submarine manufacturing. One resident shared their experience of an unsettling incident, mentioning, "I heard a big thump" around 2.30am.
