Around 80 firefighters have been deployed to tackle the ‘significant’ blaze with reports of a ‘huge explosion’.Residents close to Kemp Road in Dagenham have been urged to keep windows shut to avoid heavy smoke seeping into their homes.Station Commander Paul Green, who is at the scene, said: ‘Firefighters are tackling a significant fire involving a number of industrial units.
‘Nearby residents are advised to keep their doors and windows closed while crews work to extinguish the blaze as there is heavy smoke in the area.’Around 80 firefighters are currently on the scene Teams were first called at 7.14pm and 999 Control Officers have taken more than 50 calls about the blaze.
Fire crews from Barking, Dagenham, Hainault, Ilford, Romford, Tottenham and surrounding fire stations are all at the scene.The London Fire Brigade urged local residents to keep windows closed
