After a six-month wait, Halo: The Master Chief Collection gets a massive content update tomorrow...
will roll out to all players on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Xbox Game Pass. It's the first content update 343 Industries has rolled out to the game in six months, so it's jam-packed with new features for the likes of Firefight, Halo 4, and more.Halo Waypoint
Firefight will also be available in the Custom Games Browser from tomorrow as well, which sees the mode's player count increase to eight — 343I says that it won't cause difficulty to scale with higher player numbers. During CGB sessions you'll be free to roam the map when waiting for players to join but the game won't start until the minimum player count is met.
As for Halo: The Master Chief Collection's Theater features, each game you join will now retain its own film, ensuring you don't lose any clips when leaving or rejoining a game. You'll also be able to use Theater for the Hao 4 campaign and Spartan Ops. It's currently labeled as an"experimental feature," though, so expect to come across some small issues when using it.
Other smaller features of the July update add the golden moa statues to Halo 2, which will see three levels hide the statues each week for you to find. Halo: Combat Evolved, on the other hand, will be gaining the Acrophobia skull, which offers you a way to fly around the campaign levels.
