The new store will be four times bigger than originally planned.
A brand new Lidl is coming to Oldham. The German supermarket giant will be building a new branch off Albert Road in Hollinwood, after Oldham Council granted permission at a planning meeting on October 16.
Now the large store, accessible by car via Olive Claydon Way, will feature 111 parking spaces, including 10 parent and child spots, six disabled bays and two electric charging ports. Due to open between 7.00 and 23.00 Monday to Saturday and 10.00 and 18.00 on Sundays, the discount store hopes to ‘boost the retail offer’ in the local area.
Lidl claims it prioritises employing staff from the local area and offers entry-level hourly rates starting at £11.40.
