Trevor Sinclair has sparked an ugly debate following the death of Queen Elizabeth II
Former Blackpool FC footballer Trevor Sinclair has sparked an ugly social media row in the immediate aftermath of the death of Queen Elizabeth II after taking to social media to urge "black and brown" people not to mourn her passing.
The talkSPORT pundit claimed racism was 'allowed to thrive' during Her Majesty's 70 years as head of state. He made the tweet within minutes of the Royal Family announcing her passing, the Daily Star reports. The comment sparked a large backlash on social media, including from his talkSPORT colleague, former Crystal Palace Simon Jordan.
Former Palace owner Jordan replied with: "Trev. I'm really not sure that is an appropriate thought, let alone tweet. The country has lost a very significant person and respect and value should be the over riding sentiments not division!"
