These giant critters are cousins of the deadly black widow spiders and currently have the perfect breeding ground thanks to the recent warm and wet weather.
Enormous false widow spiders are set to invade homes across the UK over the coming season as mating season begins.
After this period, they tend to be seen indoors less frequently. Female spiders tend to stay in one place for their entire lives but males are always on the move, the Mirror reports. The British Pest Control Association have previously warned the public to avoid contact with false black widow spiders, but to remain calm if they spy one in their house.
False Widow webs are usually sited at least 1.5m off the ground and are a loose tangle of threads with a tube of silk in one corner leading into a crevice where the spider will hide during the day. The webs are generally found around window and door frames as well as in porches and conservatories. The BCPA added: "If you're concerned about spiders in your home, seek advice from a pest management professional. You can remove a spider from your home by putting a small carton or glass over it and sliding a piece of card between the opening and the surface.
