Huge seven-mile trophy parade announced after Leigh Leopards' historic Challenge Cup win
A massive seven-mile trophy parade through Greater Manchester has been announced following an historic cup win for Leigh Leopards. The side lifted their third Challenge Cup in their history after beating Hull Kingston Rovers at Wembley.
An open-top bus parade for the Leopards will begin in Astley at around 4pm, passing The Bull's Head before making its way along Church Road, Hugh Lane and Manchester Road to Tyldesley. The bus will continue along Tyldesley Road towards Atherton, where it will head down Market Street before travelling down Leigh Road into Leigh town centre, finishing at the town hall for a celebratory reception.The bus is expected in Leigh itself between 5pm and 5.30pm.
Bag searches will be in place at the event, while alcohol and glass are not permitted and only assistance dogs will be allowed on the site. Toilet facilities are available but no food will be sold on site.
