A huge blaze has broken out on a hillside in the Highlands after a 'very high' risk warning for wildfires was issued across Scotland this weekend.
Shocking images from the scene show the inferno ripping its way through the dune as thick smoke pockets spill into the sky. Nearby residents have been warned to keep their windows and doors shut in the meantime. It comes amid a 'very high' wildfire warning from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service , which is set to last until June 10.
“Crews remain on scene and local residents are asked to keep windows and doors closed to prevent smoke inhalation.”
