Football Insider sources reveal Hull City have agreed a loan deal to sign 32-year-old goalkeeper Karl Darlow from Newcastle United.
Hull City are set to seal the loan signing of Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlow before the transfer deadline,The Championship side have reached an agreement with Newcastle for the 32-year-old shot-stopper to join for the remainder of the season.
Matt Ingram is the current No.1 at Hull City but manager Liam Rosenior has been eager to bolster his goalkeeping department this month.He’s spent most of his time in Tyneside playing second fiddle to other goalkeepers, with just 86 league appearances for the club since signing. The majority of those appearances came in the 2016/17 season when he helped Newcastle gain promotion back to the Premier League.Darlow made 34 appearances that season, keeping 13 clean sheets in the process.
However, Rob Elliott provided stiff competition for a starting spot in the top flight and the signing of Martin Dubravka in 2018 pushed Darlow back down the pecking order.Prior to his time at Newcastle Darlow spent time at Nottingham Forest, where he made 64 appearances after graduating from the club’s academy.
He initially returned to the City Ground on loan after signing for Newcastle, making 42 further league appearances for Forest in the 2014/15 season.
