Authorities are investigating after human remains were found in a vacant East Cleveland lot on Saturday.
According to the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office, deputies executed a search warrant in the 14200 block of Potomac Avenue over the weekend in relation to a search for a missing woman from Warrensville Heights. Their investigation later led to a second search warrant being executed on Strathmore Avenue in East Cleveland, where deputies found human remains in a backyard, authorities said.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation was called in to assist with processing the scene. The sheriff's office said East Cleveland police and firefighters, as well as officers from the Cleveland Heights Police Department and members of the Cleveland Metroparks K-9 unit, also assisted.No further information has been released.
