Late-comedy legend Barry Humphries received the highest honour in the King’s Birthday list for his 'service to the arts as a comedian, actor, author, satirist and entertainer'.
The list was released overnight ahead of the public holiday for Charles’ first birthday as head of the Commonwealth.
The Daily Telegraph reported he had also secretly been battling cancer in the years ahead of his death.The monarch’s spokesperson told Daily Mirror that Charles was “saddened” by the loss.
