Classrooms will be closed by strikes this month unless a deal can be agreed between education bosses and unions.

Humza Yousaf has been urged to intervene to help resolve a series of strikes that could close schools across Scotland.

Mark Griffin, the party's local government spokesman, said: "Strike chaos is looming and schools are facing yet more closures – but the SNP government is sitting on its hands. "Workers deserve a fair pay deal during a cost of living crisis and school pupils shouldn’t have to deal with any more SNP-made disruption.

She told the BBC: "We are still in a cost of living crisis. The workers involved in this dispute are some of the lowest paid in education.
