About 850 passengers have been evacuated after a fire broke out on a cruise ship docked in Sydney.

"As a precaution Levels 5 and 6 of the ship have been evacuated with the remainder of the ship maintaining its normal operations," FRNSW said in a statement.Two people were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene by paramedics.

FFRNSW Superintendent Adam Dewberry said the ship’s crew were able to contain the fire on level five of the vessel while they awaited rescue teams.FRNSW are working with the ship's captain and crew to investigate the cause of the fire.
