Hundreds of Australians have been left stranded after Air Vanuatu cancelled or rescheduled at least 26 flights to and from the popular holiday spot.

The delays have caused mass frustration, with many taking to social media to express their annoyance.

My family were due to fly to Vanuatu tomorrow but we’ve been notified to say our flight has been cancelled. In a statement published to Facebook on Sunday, the airline announced it had engaged with Nauru airlines to help cover for the cancelled and rescheduled flights as it admitted it was"impossible" to know when regular operations would recommence.
