Gillian Mackay MSP joined partners including Motherwell FC and The Well Foundation

Lanarkshire MSP Gillian Mackay helped a drive towards the goal of training hundreds of people from the Muslim community in lifesaving skills.

Members of the Muslim community and general public in Motherwell joined Gillian at the Lanarkshire Mosque to kick off training in CPR and the use of defibrillators, which was delivered both in English and Urdu.James Cant, CEO at RCUK, said: “We want to ensure that everyone everywhere has an equal chance of surviving a cardiac arrest and that’s why were holding this event.

“The Well Foundation is proud to support CPR training demonstrations at Lanarkshire Mosque,” a Foundation spokesperson added. “We know more lives can be saved if we improve public health and boost knowledge about CPR and defibrillators.”
