The streets were lined with Irish flags and Guinness hats
Dance troups and marching pipe bands led the green and gold coloured parade under the cold March sun on Sunday .
as the procession made its way from the Irish World Heritage Centre on Queens Road in Cheetham Hill to the AO Arena in Manchester city centre.The parade featured performances from the Oldham Scottish Pipe Band and the Grace Kennedy School of Dance. The procession also featured an array of community floats.
Traditional Irish breakfasts were served throughout the morning and a funfair – which will remain open until 9pm – was also open on Irish Town Way. Overall, it took around two hours for the parade to complete the 2.5 mile route. Several roads were closed throughout the day.
