Hurricane Ian aftermath to batter Lancashire with gale force winds and icy temperatures
Lancashire will be blasted by 40mph winds, rain and chilly temperatures as wild weather takes hold at end of the week, according to forecasters.
Coastal areas of the county are set to be hit particularly hard, with winds reaching 43mph in Morecambe and Blackpool.Deputy Chief Meteorologist at the Met Office, Chris Almond, told The Mirror: “This will bring a much wetter and windier spell than we’ve seen so far this autumn, but nothing that is unusual for the time of year.
"We could see some minor impacts, such as surface water flooding or minor wind damage, as well as some short-lived impacts on ferry crossings, especially in exposed areas of western Scotland and eastern areas of Northern Ireland.
