Hurricane Milton slammed into Florida as a powerful Category 3 storm, causing widespread destruction, floods, tornadoes, and leaving millions without power. Tragically, several deaths have been confirmed in St. Lucie County.
Hurricane Milton has cut a path of destruction across Florida , leaving several people dead and a trail of devastation in its wake. Milton made landfall as a category 3 storm at around 8.30pm EST .It brought floods, 120mph winds, and deadly tornadoes.More than three million homes and businesses have been left without power. Tampa Mayor Jane Castor warned that homes where anyone stayed put during the storm would be turned into ‘coffins’.
Petersburg, sits in an area ravaged by some of the strongest winds recorded as the eye of the storm passed close by.Images give a clear line of sight into the building, with the lights of the stadium beaming out from inside the structure.Video footage emerging from inside the dome shot by security shows the true extent of the damage.The next NBA preseason game between the Magic and the New Orleans Pelicans, set to take place at the stadium on Friday, was canceled before the hurricane hit.
