A wrong-way driver on southbound I-15 died after crashing into a bus transporting military personnel and forcing the closure of the highway at the start of the morning commute on Thursday, March 21, 2024. Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cameron Roden said the driver of the pickup truck was transported in critical condition and was later pronounced dead. Drivers on the highway when the crash happened were stuck at the scene until troopers were able to clear away a lane around 7:30 a.m. and allow them through. Southbound lanes remained closed through the morning commute, and traffic was being diverted at 600 North.
