Pastor Apollo Quiboloy of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ denied being a 'human rights abuser' as claimed by the US government which imposed financial sanctions against him for alleged serious human rights abuse. 'I am not a human rights abuser. It is my human rights that have been abused,' Quiboloy said on Monday. He lamented that he had been 'tarred and feathered in the face of the whole world before even going to trial.
A federal grand jury in California indicted Quiboloy and eight others on November 18, 2021 for conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion; sex trafficking of children; marriage fraud; fraud and misuse of visas; bulk cash smuggling; promotional money laundering; concealment of money laundering; and international promotional money laundering.
