“My focus has never shifted from wanting to win a Premiership with the Knights, that has been my goal since I joined the Club in 2018 and continues to be my focus," his statement read. The Knights captain was expected to make his Australia debut and had reportedly been named in a preliminary squad for Tests against Samoa and New Zealand, however James Tedesco and Dylan Edwards are now the frontrunners for the no.1 jumper. Brasher recalled his own pride at pulling on the Australian jersey and said he'd still do it if he could.
"I feel for Kalyn, I literally understand what he’s giving up. It’s an opportunity that forever you’re going to be known as an Australian player, you’re going to have that experience, you’re going to have those memories."
