Ride operators in the main carnival area of the show have been told they are not allowed to play rap music and to turn the decibels “right down” ahead of this year’s event to deter criminal youth groups from attending. “If you look at the psychology of music, and you look at what happens overseas, at railway stations and shopping centres, there is scientific fact of the type of music that is played actually predicts somebody’s behaviour,” Wilton said.
