Rejina Pyo was among the guests at a Buckingham Palace reception honouring Britain’s East and South East Asian communities hosted by King Charles and the Queen Consort.

Usually with a hanbok the skirt would be a different colour, but Jaesook said she thought it would be really special if the top and bottom were the same shade, which is something I hadn’t seen before. The design could have been a lot more elaborate, but I loved the result. Jaesook is such a professional, and she has dedicated her life to this garment, so there was a lot of love and trust there.

When the hanbok arrived in our studio from Korea the whole team was just amazed by how gorgeous it was. Jaesook also sent some special jewellery, a traditional Koreanconsisting of a pair of butterflies crafted with jade, freshwater pearls and coral, and matching hair decorations. She would ordinarily dress her clients, so in this case she filmed a video showing exactly how the layers and layers of garments should be put on.
