The Italian fast-food chain was a welcomed relief after a long day in work
Sometimes only a takeaway will do, especially after a long week in work and when the cupboards are basically bare . And sometimes that takeaway needs to be comfort food - greasy, cheesy, indulgent, comfort food.
Sbarro is an American fast food chain, known for its New York-style pizzas and other Italian-American cuisines such as stromboli which is basically a mixture between a pizza and a sandwich. A pizza sandwich was exactly what I could envision myself tucking into, so I changed my route home and turned into the SPAR petrol station on Dunnings Bridge Road to pickup tea for my family.
My server very kindly gave me a wait time, so I sat down and watched her put together my order behind the counter. As I saw it coming out of the pizza oven, she asked me if I'd like extra hot sauce which was a nice touch and gave me a peek at the cheesy garlic bread and asked me if it looked good... it did.
But the garlic bread was the star of the show in my opinion. It was piled with garlic seasoning blended in with the mozzarella and formed almost a hard crispy layer on top. Also for £16.99 , I really do think the meal deal was good value for money, considering it could easily be shared between three people.
