Mum's miracle baby after George Michael secretly paid for her IVF after Deal or No Deal heartache
A mum has shared the incredible story of how the late singer George Michael paid for her to have IVF resulting in the birth of her "miracle little boy".
Unknown to her, George, who would have turned 59 yesterday, was watching the show. The next day Lynette, now 44, received a lifechanging phone call. The tests also showed that she had a high level of natural killer cells, meaning that immune cells meant to fight disease were actually attacking and killing her embryos. Luckily, this could be treated.
By January 21, Lynette felt unwell so booked a doctor's appointment, fearing she was seriously ill. But not for one second did she dare entertain the idea that she might be pregnant. She was scared of being false hope and couldn't bear to listen to anybody who said that she could be suffering with morning sickness.
"I was constantly thinking I've got this child and it’s going to be taken away from me. I know it’s going to be taken away. I’d been given this gift and just thought I would lose it," she explained. "And every time I had this feeling of, 'I’m not going to get what I want at the end of this’, I’d get signs."
