'I love Wetherspoons and hold the record for visiting over 1,000 of their pubs – here’s my top five'
A PUNTER has broken the record for visiting the most Wetherspoon pubs, having a pint in 1,048 — 222 more than currently exist.
David Newbury, 54, has been hopping around the boozers for almost half his life, having visited his first in 1999.It is believed the previous titleholder was Colin Timson, 78, who had been to 1,047, although no official record has ever been taken.
