Why do today’s famous 50-year-olds look so good for their age? Queen of Harley Street Lesley Reynolds shares her thoughts as celebrities are defying traditional ageing
In the ever-evolving landscape of beauty and wellness, one steady trend has emerged: celebrities defying traditional notions of ageing – and 50 seems to be fast becoming the new 30.
One key factor lies in their holistic approach to health and beauty. Gone are the days of relying on drastic measures to maintain a youthful appearance. Instead, today’s celebrities are embracing a more balanced lifestyle, and making self-care and wellness a priority. This is a step away from the showbiz generation before, as we’re now seeing some stars in their sixties and seventies grappling with the consequences of their previously indulgent lifestyles. Overindulging in alcohol, processed foods and smoking has an undeniable ageing effect on the skin, as can extreme diet fads of decades past. Perhaps surprisingly, being too skinny can also drastically age the face and skin.
I advocate for moderation in all things. A balanced diet, regular exercise and a good skincare routine – plus well-administered professional treatments – can really help to hold back the clock, whether you’re a Hollywood star or not. Facial treatments such as LED light therapy or oxygen facials: Boosts hydration, rejuvenates the skin and helps to maintain a youthful complexion.Microdermabrasion or chemical peels: Exfoliates the skin and promotes cell turnover.
