'I'm in the best shape of my life after bumping into Love Island star at the Trafford Centre'
Viki Townend had seen her weight gradually creep up over the years - and when she saw 15 stone flash up on her scales vowed to make a change. And a chance meeting with a Love Island star at the Trafford Centre has seen Viki get into the best shape of her life after a five stone total weight loss.
"I found that after a while I just stagnated, I hit a bit of a brick wall with losing any more weight. Then I was at the Trafford Centre one day last year where Food4Thoughts were doing an event and I bumped into Scott. Viki says: "For me, I wanted to lose more weight and to get fitter. I've always found it quite difficult to plan my food so it was a big draw for someone else to tell me what to eat.
As part of the programme, Viki stopped the calorie counting - as all of your daily nutrients are accounted for you with the meal plans the coaches devise. "That was a massive weight off my shoulders," Viki says. After joining the plan Viki has lost a further two stone and has seen her 5' figure slimming down from her biggest dress size of 18 down to a size 8. She is now eating for maintenance of her current weight of 9stone 13lbs and now concentrates on fitness goals, aiming to walk 10,000 steps a day.
"I just drop a snack if I know I'm going out for a big meal. And learning I wasn't eating enough protein has been a really big thing.Viki is given recipe plans by the team, which includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and two or three snack options every day. And if she knows she has a night out, her coach will factor that into the whole week.
