Rachel Pugh says Murder On The Orient Express at the Lowry Theatre was a triumph
In the Pugh household, there's one Christmas tradition we hold dear. Each year, my family loves nothing more than gathering around the TV, with the fire crackling in the background, and getting our teeth stuck into the annual BBC Agatha Christie series.
The hero of this show is undoubtedly its clever staging - designed by Mike Britton, with lighting design by Oliver Fenwick, and video design by Ian Galloway. The set, which features revolving platforms to allow the audience to spy on different areas of the train without a full scene change being needed, was genius.
Speaking of detectives, playing Hercule Poirot was Michael Maloney. Avid BBC murder mystery viewers amongst you may recognise him as Charles Clover from the Magpie Murders series.
