Patricia Horne believes that every pensioner should receive the same amount of state pension
The 77 year old receives £169.50 a week on the state pension, £51.70 less than those on the new state pension.
Experts have said there is help out there for pensioners who are struggling but there needs to be more awareness of how to access it. She added that another complication of the old system is that some people received an additional amount, known as the State Second Pension or the State-Earnings Related Pension Scheme .
The state pension age is also gradually increasing so while those on the new state pension might receive more, they are having to work longer.
