The 22-year-old is expected to receive the same animosity that Ryan Jack encountered during his seven years at Ibrox
Michael Paton insists Connor Barron will rise to the occasion as the Rangers midfielder returns to Pittodrie for Wednesday night’s mouthwatering clash with Aberdeen.
He said: “You’re hoping Connor gets a good reception, he gave his all for Aberdeen, it’s not as if he left not giving 100 per cent. These things happen in football, when you have that quality then bigger clubs come sniffing. Unfortunately for Aberdeen, a bigger club came in for Connor and he decided to move on for his career. I’m sure he’ll embrace it, he’s a strong character who just lets football do the talking.
“I’m sure Connor will be silently prepared for anything that’s going to come his way but once he’s on the park and has a ball at his feet any worry or doubt will go out his head. Connor is well up for the challenge no matter what it is.”
