Cinnabon has officially made a surprise comeback to the UK by launching brand-new, bakery-inspired Cinnamon Muffins and Cinnamon Doughnuts. Following the closure of their standalone high street stores, the brand partnered with manufacturer Baker & Baker to launch these treats directly into supermarket in-store bakeries.
Luckily for me, I was sent some of the new products to try – and they definitely don't disappoint. The muffins are filled with a gooey cinnamon core and are so soft that they almost have a cake-like consistency. They're topped with a smooth layer of the brand's tasty signature cream cheese-flavoured frosting and finished with crunchy cinnamon biscuit crumbs. The doughnuts, meanwhile, are light, fluffy and feature a spiced cinnamon sugar filling that they don't skimp on.
They are decorated with a velvety swirl of the cream cheese icing and crowned with biscuit pieces. The amount of filling in both is actually amazing, and the cinnamon sugar is so tasty. I didn't get a huge cream cheese flavour from the frosting, but it's still a nice sweet addition. If I had to pick my favourite out of the two, I would say the muffins just because of how light and fluffy they are.
I really think they beat the competition when it comes to this, and the amount of filling is also really impressive compared to similar products. It seems like online reviewers agree with me, with lifestyle content creator Anastasia Kingsnorth branding the muffins "incredible" in a recent TikTok video. She noticed that the muffins were "really filled" before trying them, and then said she was "obsessed" after tasting as she branded the muffins a "must-buy".
Instagram influencer emilyjade also couldn't believe how much cinnamon sugar was in the doughnuts, as she said they're "perfect for anyone who misses Cinnabon" in the UK. Those who want to get their hands on the new treats can currently get them a Co-op stores nationwide. They're also be available at Asda stores from today . The 2-pack of Cinnamon Doughnuts costs £1.80 and the 2-pack of Cinnamon Muffins costs £2.00.
Additional UK retail partnerships and wider distribution are also reportedly planned to follow later in the year.
