Manchester City trained at the Osceola Heritage Park, home of MLS side Orlando City, ahead of their third pre-season friendly vs Barcelona.
Brazil legend Kaka was among those watching City train in Orlando, having ended his career in Florida. A group of fans were uninterested in the likes of Erling Haaland and Jack Grealish training directly in front of them, and only interested in getting Kaka to notice them.
Guardiola had just spoken to a packed media theatre ahead of the Barcelona game - taking as many questions in Spanish and Catalan as in English. He offered a stern assessment of Julian Alvarez's comments that the striker wants to play more important games and that he has to think about his future. There was backing for Jack Grealish too, who had just spoken for the first time about his omission from the England squad this summer. He said he was heartbroken at the snub, that he struggled to get over it, and alluded to off-field problems that were simmering in the background last season.
In a drill to practice positioning with the defence and midfield, Josh Wilson-Esbrand was the left-back and Rico Lewis was switched back to the right, with Gvardiol in the middle rather than at left-back. Mateo Kovacic is back as well and has taken his place at the base of midfield, with Nico O'Reilly next to him.
