Our Everton jury have their say on another rollercoaster week at Goodison Park
Everton’s poor Premier League run of form continued on Monday night, when they were thrashed 6-0 by Chelsea.
So, where do Everton go from here? The answer to that is for the players to find. They must repay the unwavering support from those who travelled to west London on Monday; show some fight at the least. The manager, bereft of ideas or inspiration, seems to be happy losing games. We go down without a fight, and that needs to change. Defeat at Stamford Bridge heightens the importance of the Nottingham Forest game; it is a must-win.
However, in spite of the Toffees' heaviest defeat in almost 19 years, we have all got to try and pick ourselves up, dust ourselves down, and muster up the energy to go again. I think back to the 4-1 defeat Newcastle United inflicted on us at the end of April last year and the sense of hopelessness I felt after that match. I don't think our current situation looks as bleak as it did at that moment in time.
Those supporters took time off work, spent their hard-earned money, travelled hundreds of miles, and returned home in the early hours of the morning, absolutely shattered and distraught. And any offer of support from 'The People's Club' afterwards? Is there any offer to refund the cost of their tickets? Any apology from the manager? Not a word!
