The Mirror's writer Bethan Shufflebotham tested three top branded pet vacuums and the overall winner might not be what you expect
The best vacuum cleaners can make the lives of pet owners so much easier, as the task of clearing up pet hair from homes and cars can often feel like an endless battle.
After putting them through their paces during the summer months when moulting is at its highest, here are the results. The Vax came second to Dyson in the power test, all three being "miles better than our previous cheap cordless from Aldi, proving that it does pay to invest in one of the more expensive models," she said.
Price was the final factor that pushed the Vax to winning heights, with Bethan saying, "When it comes to price, at their most expensive with no deals and discounts, the Dyson is the dearest at £329.99, followed by the £299.99 Vax and Shark the cheapest at £279.99. However, the Vax is currently down to £199.99, while the Dyson is £229.99, meaning that the Vax - at the time of writing - is the overall least expensive, getting you more vacuum for your money.
Shark's charging abilities were slightly better than that of the Vax because, "you can charge the battery either on or off the vacuum cleaner, which gives it a little more versatility as it can be placed up a corner of the room folded down to charge," she said.
