'Manchester has so many incredible females in the industry however we couldn’t help but feel their presence here is a little less prominent'
Despite an increasing number of female-owned and operated bars in recent years here in Manchester, many of those running some of the popular haunts still face barriers.
"Manchester has so many incredible females in the industry however we couldn’t help but feel their presence here is a little less prominent. With that in mind we thought we’d use International Women’s Day to work with women and brands across the city who we know and love to create a menu that champions their skill and passion.”
We spoke to some of the women behind this year's special menu, covering everything from this year's International Women's Day theme of 'Inspire Inclusion', to how to better elevate women in the sector. For her, there is also still a lot of work to do in improving representation too. "There is still inequality and gender bias remaining, and we need to create a safer and more supportive environment to help developing talents. By giving more opportunity to women as we often can see an underestimation of their skills that can prevent progress in their career.
