The Dr Martens boots went viral after fashion fans insisted they're comfortable from the moment you put them on, so I put them to the test
I got my first pair of Dr Martens, the classic 1460 Patent Leather boots in red, as a spotty-chinned 14-year-old and they were my pride and joy. I would wear them every weekend, to non-uniform days in school and basically any other occasion I could get away with wearing them.

The boots combine elements of streetwear with utilitarianism for a shoe that's just ultra cool - and you feel cool, at least I did, when wearing them.
If you don't wear thick enough socks when you break in a normal pair of leather boots, you can get blisters on your heels from where the leather has rubbed in, which is painful and honestly a bit grim. But not with these, I've worn these for a couple of hours at a time since getting them and they've not rubbed at all.
