We all love a money-saving hack – but is using Vaseline in your brows just as good as laminating them? Or even brow gel?
We all have a pot of Vaseline knocking about in our drawers and cupboards. And it feels that there's always some sort of hack that they can be used for.And one famous hack is to use it to stick up your brows, lamination style – so I had to give it a go.
The Vaseline hack Eyebrow lamination is a semi-permanent procedure that sticks down your brows in a certain style. I like a laminated brow look, it makes them look fuller, but not too thick or filled in, which you might get from colouring them in with an eyebrow pencil. But it can cost up to £50 to have the treatment professionally carried out, so it's not the cheapest. This hack is extremely cost-effective – a pack of spoolies cost £2 from Boots while a tin of Vaseline is £1.80 — although most of us will have both knocking about the house already.I then smeared the Vaseline onto my brows and used the spoolie to stick them up.Initially, I really liked the look – it looked just like I'd used brow gel.
And that is the NYX Professional Makeup Control Freak Eye Brow Gel. This product costs just £7.99 and sticks my brows into place all day. While it looks like it gives the same effect as the Vaseline hack, it lasts all day, even when I'm out and about. The only gripe I have with this product is that brows can feel a little bit crispy if you put too much on – but they don't look that way, so I still just embrace it.
