I tried Aldi’s new Specialbuy that’s cheaper than Estee Lauder and felt as boujee as Molly Mae Hague
Earlier this year, Molly Mae shared her glowing 8-step nightly skincare routine that costs a whopping £361, which left fans scrambling to find cheaper alternatives to the new mum’s must-have skincare saviours.
The new ProNight Advanced Skincare line comes as the supermarket’s cruelty-free offering continues to claim cult status, with searches for #AldiSkincare hitting a staggering 4M views on TikTok alone. Dermatalogically tested, the eye serum comes in at £4.99, compared to Estée Lauder’s advanced night repair eye concentrate matrix, which is £53.10 per bottle.
The bottles are certainly inspired by Estée Lauder’s, and are pretty recognisable as what people would consider to be a dupe. The serum has a pipette dispenser, the top of which is quite firm, so it takes a little bit of pressure to suck up and drip out the product - this makes it feel quite expensive, and prevents over-dispensing the product onto the skin, too.
I wasn’t in love with the product, but that’s not to say it isn’t any good. Personally, I prefer skincare products to be dispensed rather than in pots that you have to dip your finger in, and found that it felt a little tacky on my skin even 15-20 minutes after applying. I do appreciate overnight products do tend to have a more exaggerated feel, but this one I had hoped would feel a little silkier than it did.
