It's a naughty lunchtime treat
Hardly a well-kept secret at this point, it’s become a hub of independent eateries, like Herbivorous and Block Steak Shop, since its inception in 2017 and also plays host to a variety of events, pop-ups and festivals.
Launched in 2019 by one half Middlesbrough and one half northern couple Kyle and Ellie, the venture specialises - as the name would suggest - in Parmos. But it was the existence of the parmo butty that piqued my interest - being the northerner that I am. It’s basically the classic parmo served on a toasted brioche bun with house pickled slaw, rocket and garlic sauce and with fries on the side. And it was a delight from start to finish.
The garlic sauce hit me from the get-go and, with the seasoned chips in tow too, it is a perfect meal if you're looking to avoid the presence of vampires. And on the topic of the triple cooked chips, they were a delight. Crispy on the outside and soft inside, they were quite frankly the perfect chips. And the fact that they’re included with the sandwich makes it a fairly good deal.
