Although the fireworks were amazing, we missed most of what the night had to offer
Bonfire night is always one of my favourite nights of the year, but finding somewhere to go and watch a big firework display isn’t as easy as it used to be. Especially with all the recent weather, as many smaller events were being cancelled.
In total, it cost £27.38 for two tickets. However, I do not know if the event was oversold or if it was just poorly organised, but the event was not what it was cracked up to be. Living around half an hour away I thought an hour would be plenty of time to get there and find our friends.However, despite leaving just before 6pm we didn’t even get parked until after 7.30pm.
Then once parked up in a field and trying to take photos to remember where we were, we entered the main event. There was a stage in the distance, a range of food and drink stalls, two kids rides, a funhouse and four amusement rides for adults. With the amount of people there, which must have been in the thousands, there was not enough facilities, with huge queues for everything.
However, the rest of the experience did not make the ten minutes of fireworks worth it. We waited around 15 or 20 minutes after the fireworks, hoping to miss some of the traffic leaving, but we were very wrong. After finally finding our car, we waited for 20 minutes and didn’t even move, surrounded by red lights of people unable to move.
