The journey was long, full of unimaginable pain and completely dehumanising. I still find it difficult to talk or even think about this time of my life.
I was eventually taken into local authority care in Birmingham. Though I was safe, I was still anxious. Today I received my results, along with thousands of other young people across the country. I felt sick with nerves opening the envelope but I got the grades I need and I’m so happy.
