Lily Cole has collaborated with Skydiamond to create a nine-piece jewellery range featuring carbon-capture diamonds. Lily Cole spoke to Vogue about the collaboration with Skydiamond.
By now, we’ve all heard of lab-grown diamonds – but what about diamonds made using carbon captured from the atmosphere? It’s a proposition that instantly caught the attention of Lily Cole , model turned author and environmentalist, when she interviewed the founder of Skydiamond, Dale Vince for her book, Who Cares Wins. “I was fascinated by the idea,” she tells Vogue. “At that point it wasn’t in action; it was just conceptual.
“If one small business tries to do things in a better way, can have a small positive impact, what would be the bigger collective impact if all businesses and all industries and citizens went in that direction?” she asks. It’s why Cole has designed a capsule collection for Skydiamond, with the help of jewellery designer Dominic Jones.
