If there's one thing that's shot up in price since the cost of living crisis began it's meat. Whether it's mince for your bolognese, or a chicken for your Sunday roast, you're paying a lot more these days and often getting a lot less too.
What they all have in common is that meat is cheap. In price that is, not quality. The reviews speak for themselves, with shoppers raving about the taste and saying it's much better than what they would previously have bought elsewhere. And it turns out it's not the only thing that's cheaper there. They have a pack of two sirloin steaks for £6.99 , which come with peppercorn sauce too. At Aldi and Lidl, the cheapest sirloin is £3.69 for 195g.
Just one 750g pack of lean steak mince would set you back £4.99 at Aldi and Lidl, while a slightly bigger 1.5kg pork loin joint costs around £8.50. If I had more room in my freezer I'd have bought a whole lot more. Although, with the amount I got, I won't be running out of meat anytime soon. And my money went a lot further than it would at the supermarket.
