Speaking of a changing city, it's been almost a year to the day since the announcement that Manchester's Counterfeit Street was set to be bulldozed. The shops knocking out fake designer goods on Bury New Road have been operating with virtual impunity for decades. Police have now closed down most of the counterfeit shops and now Avison Young has now been chosen to draw up a masterplan for the area. The team will work with Salford and Manchester councils to develop the Strangeways and Cambridge Strategic Regeneration Framework ahead of public consultation next year.
