Tranmere Rovers have parted company with Ian Dawes after a shocking start to the 2023/24 season
Tranmere Rovers have sacked manager Ian Dawes just seven games into the League Two season, with technical director Nigel Adkins now taking charge of the team on an interim basis.
A summer transfer window which saw Rovers lose key players such as Ethan Bristow and Josh Dacres-Cogley did little to help the 39-year-old prepare for his first full season at the helm, which has since descended into chaos. The final nail in the coffin for Dawes was Saturday's 2-0 away defeat at Colchester United, a game he described as must-win before a ball had been kicked. It therefore came as little surprise to see Tranmere take action today and bring to an end his short spell at Prenton Park.
