Scottish Labour Secretary Ian Murray has refused to say whether he will return the money paid for his VIP trip to a Premier League football match, amid growing scrutiny over freebies given to politicians. Murray was treated to free hospitality at Anfield last week for the Liverpool v Bournemouth game alongside Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar. The trip, funded by Salmon Scotland, comes as Prime Minister Keir Starmer faces calls to repay thousands of pounds worth of gifts, including Taylor Swift tickets and designer clothing.

On Wednesday, the Labour leader said he would pay back £6,000 worth of donations, including the cost of six Taylor Swift tickets and a designer clothing agreement for his wife.
