Iceland has introduced a new age-restricted policy

The supermarket giant is reaching out to older shoppers with its dedicated discount offer. Those over the age of 60 are entitled to a reduction of 10 per cent off their entire purchase every Tuesday with no minimum spending limit at both Iceland and The Food Warehouse stores.

Richard Walker, Iceland's Managing Director, said: "We are so pleased with how well the over 60s discount has been received by the public and love hearing stories from customers who are benefiting from the discount." On the introductory day of the program in May 2022, statistics indicated that more than a third of the visitors at either Iceland or The Food Warehouse took advantage of the offer, with upwards of 150,000 enjoying the benefits, according to reports from Birmingham Live.

To take advantage of this deal, individuals must log in to their Blue Light Card account, retrieve their unique code, and apply it at the checkout on Iceland's website. Additionally, Iceland is catering to younger consumers by offering a one-time discount for students through Student Beans, where they can save £6 on a minimum spend of £45.
