Fountains of lava are spewing into the air in Iceland again as a volcano just south of the nation’s capital erupted for the fourth time since December.

A volcano in Iceland erupted for the fourth time since December on Saturday, the country’s meteorological office said, spewing bright orange lava into the air.

A view of lava flowing on the road leading to the Blue Lagoon after the volcano erupted in Grindavík last month.“Warning: An eruption began in Reykjanes,” the Icelandic Meteorological Office said on its website, while Reykjavik’s nearby Keflavik Airport’s website showed it remained open both for departures and arrivals.

In 2010, ash clouds from eruptions at the Eyjafjallajokull volcano in the south of Iceland spread over large parts of Europe, grounding some 100,000 flights and forcing hundreds of Icelanders to evacuate their homes.
