Halo multiplayer announcer Jeff Steitzer has never been asked to record audiobooks for the franchise's expanded universe.
The Voice of God in Halo multiplayer, Jeff Steitzer, has spent more than two decades providing the series with one of the most iconic voices in video game history. As the series has branched off into books, comics, TV shows and even movies, Steitzer has been waiting for Halo Studios to give him a chance at just one thing: audiobooks. In an interview on the VideoGamer Podcast, Steitzer revealed that he’s never been asked to record an audiobook for the Halo series.
“They keep me in a closet, they let me out every three years, I do a recording, they send me back. I don’t know what’s happening in the world—it’s crazy.” In the interview, Steitzer also explained his surprise that he was never asked to return as a small Easter egg in the Halo TV show. While the series’ first season included a nod to Halo-themed web series Red vs Blue, Steitzer was sadly never asked. “Hey, if Whoopie Goldberg can run a cantina, why can’t I?” the actor joked.
